Hero Arts February 2022 My Monthly Hero Countdown to Creativity

February 6, 2022 Daniel West

Hey there Artie! It’s Del! Today we’re joining Hero Arts’ Countdown to Creativity, showing off some peeks at the February 2022 My Monthly Hero Card Kit.

The February 2022 My Monthly Hero kit takes us to the land of dreams and surrealism. You’ll see a lot of inspiration based on Salvador Dali and his compadres.

I hope you have enjoyed the countdown so far and you are ready to shop when this kit and add-ons go live on Monday, February 7, at 1PM Eastern.

Throughout my post, I will use affiliate links in the photos and hyperlinks. These links let the websites know I sent you their way. For this referral, I receive a percentage of your total purchase price at no additional cost to you. I appreciate your support of my creative efforts.

Supplies:

  1. My Monthly Hero Card Kit - February 2022 (link takes you to the Hero website.)

  2. Embossing & Watermark Clear Ink

  3. Silver Embossing Powder

  4. Copic Markers

  5. Pitch Black Cardstock

  6. Cottontail Embossing Powder Tool

  7. Watercolor Cardstock

  8. Silver Watercolor Brush

  9. Dove White Cardstock

  10. Spellbinders Platinum 6

  11. MISTI Stamping Tool

  12. Precision Glue

  13. Heat Tool

  14. Foam Tape (the old 3M formula you can tear available here)

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. First, I wet a section of my watercolor panel with water leaving a rough one inch margin around the edges dry.

  2. Then, I dropped in watercolors from the Daniel Smith Watercolor Dot Sheet in the kit into the wet section.

  3. After that, I dried it all with a heat tool and trimmed the panel down an 1/8” inch off the sides.

  4. Next, I stamped the stars from the kit in sections near the top of the panel with Clear Ink and melted Silver Embossing Powder over them with a heat tool.

  5. Then, I popped it up on the front of a card base with foam tape.

  6. After that, I stamped the images of the umbrella, hat, and moon out with Intense Black Ink and colored them in with Copic markers.

  7. Next, I die cut them and popped the up on the front of the card with foam tape.

  8. Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment from the kit on some Pitch Black cardstock with Silver Embossing Powder, fussy cut it out and popped it up on some foam tape.

I hope you enjoyed this little peek at February’s My Monthly Hero Card Kit! There is so much more to see, so keep your eyes peeled all the inspiration from this weekend. Below you will find a grid of supplies I used. I appreciate you using my affiliate links when you shop. It let’s Hero Arts and the other companies I design for know that I sent you their way!
