Hero Arts Extra Post - Blender Brush Painting

Hey Arties! I wanted to pop in and share a few cards I made on the Hero Arts Facebook Live a few weeks ago. These cards are super simple and easy to make yet they work for me!

I painted them with a Hero Arts Blender Brush and you can watch the episode here!

  2. Hero Arts Reactive Inks: Lemon Drop, Key Lime, Taffy, Splash, Berry Smoothie, Blue Hawaii, Blue Raspberry

  3. Hero Arts Blending Brushes

  4. Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL

  5. Pitch Black Cardstock

  6. Embossing & Watermark Clear Ink

  7. White Embossing Powder

  8. Heat Tool

  9. Dove White Cardstock

  10. Precision Glue

  11. Die Cutting Machine

Steps for Creating Card

You can watch the Creative Team Crafty Hour to see me create these cards! But here are a few steps;

  1. First, choose three ink colors that sit near each other on the rainbow or color wheel. For these cards, I chose Lemon Drop, Taffy and Key Lime for one panel, Blue Raspberry Blue Hawaii and Berry Smoothie for another.

  2. Next, die cut the cover plate out of some Dove White Cardstock.

  3. Then, with a blending brush, apply inks in three colors only on the petals and leaves. Make sure you blend colors that go into each other or you’ll get a murky brown.

  4. After that, add some Precision Glue to the outside border of the die cut, press it onto a card base and let the center pop up a bit from the front.

  5. Next, stamp a sentiment from the Message Strips set with Clear Ink and melt some white embossing powder over it with a heat tool.

For this last panel, can you guess which three inks I used?

I had great fun playing with the inks and blending brushes for these. This cover plate die is super versatile and easy to use for a quick turn card or to make a whole set as a gift set.

I appreciate you spending some time with me today. If you are excited about the supplies I used in this post, you can pick them up using my affiliate links in the grid of supplies below.

Have a wonderful week!

Daniel
