Catherine Pooler Tropical Treasures Blog Hop

Welcome to our celebration of the Tropical Treasures Release from Catherine Pooler Designs. We are blog hopping today. Daniel West here with a few cards to highlight the warmth of the tropical designs in this beautiful collection of stamps, dies and other goodies.

I have included a list of the entire hop for today below. Leave a comment on each blog! With each comment you have an entry to the drawing for $25 to shop Catherine Pooler Designs.

For my first card, I made a shaker using the To the Point Cover Plate and stamps from the Fearless Pursuit Stamps Set. I used some Life-Changing Brushes to create an ink blended background with Aquatini, Lime Rickey, Limoncello, Tiara and Tutti Frutti. I cut out the blended background using the To the Point Cover Plate die and adhered it to a White A2 card base.

I stamped the palm trees and the sentiment out on some White cardstock with Midnight Ink and cut them out with my Scan N Cut. I used some nesting circle dies to create two rings out of White card stock and an acetate window pane. I adhered the acetate to the back of one of the rings. Then I used some double-sided foam tape to pop up the window on the second ring. I poured a sequin mix I had in my stash into the center of the card and adhered the window over the top of the sequins. Then I adhered the palm trees and sentiment over the top of the window to finish off the card.

For my second card, I used some watercolor paper and watercolors to make a violet, blue and green background.  I wet the middle of the panel with water and dropped and dried several layers of watercolor onto the cardstock until I was pleased with the result. Then I stamped the Fearless Pursuit sentiment in the middle with Midnight Ink and embossed it with some clear embossing powder.  I adhered the panel onto an A2 sized card base with some strong, double-sided tape.
