Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team Blog Hop - February 2019 Subscriptions

Hey there my friends! Thanks for joining the Inspiration Team today on our weekly blog hop. We feature the Brutus Monroe Subscription items across the hop. My project comes from the Special Delivery Inspiration Box! The theme of the box is snail mail and comes with a huge stamp set of mailboxes, envelopes, and sentiments. The box includes gorgeous layering cardstock, kraft envelopes, glassine envelopes, an exclusive Plum Aqua Pigment (which I need more of or I don’t know how I’ll survive), foiling card panels, stickers, an embossing folder, ribbon, and an exclusive enamel pin with a snail mail theme! I hope you can get your hands on this box, and if not, some of the items will be in the online shop for sale separately.

I did a live unboxing of this month’s Inspiration Kit on my YouTube Channel. You can watch it here:

My project took me to a new area of design for me: envelope art. I stamped out the images of the envelopes on the front left side of one of the kraft envelopes. I hand-lettered the mailing address for my momma on the front using an envelope template I made for my Brother Scan N Cut. You can download the FREE template in SVG format I created here! For the handlettering, I used a Tombow Lettering Calligraphy Pen. I colored in the envelopes with colored pencils. Then I stamped the top with the words, “DO NOT BEND,” from the stamp set.

I flipped the envelope over and stamped one of the mail box images in Raven Detail Ink. I colored it in with colored pencils. Using the envelope template I made, I hand-lettered my return address and stamped the words, “DO NOT BEND,” on the back, too. I double stamped the “happy mail” sentiment along the bottom for a bolder look. (Actually, I foolishly didn’t use my MISTI and one of my stamps didn’t ink up properly so when I tried to stamp over it, I messed up. So I made them all the same. Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone).

For the note that I wrote my momma, I took out the dotted-line printed kraft cardstock from the Inspiration Box and used it like lined paper. I wrote the note with a Cricut black marker pen. I also stamped the same mail box image from the envelope onto the front of my note card. I colored it in with Copic markers and adhered this panel to a piece of Raven cardstock from the Inspiration Box.

I hope you all enjoyed seeing me move out of my comfort zone, today. And I hope it inspires you to try some envelope art, as well. I you want to purchase any of these supplies, I have added a grid for your convenience below.

Please follow along the hop to see what other subscriptions you can grab this week from Brutus Monroe!
