Ellen Hutson World Card Making Day Release - October 2021

What a great way to celebrate World Card Making Day — with a new release from Ellen Hutson. This Bear Ware Grand Tour Stamp and Die collection celebrates world travel. If you feel anything like I do, right now, you wanna head out to Paris, London and Rome for a while.

This little guy has his luggage packed and ready for a red-eye flight out of Boston. Over his head shines the biggest bluest moon ever. You will definitely see this huge globe curve used to create a round horizon, but I flipped it around in tru Del & Artie style and made it something else.

Supplies Used to Create this Card

  1. Bear Ware Grand Tour Stamps and Dies

  2. Catherine Pooler Stone Blue Ink

  3. Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist Ink

  4. Posca White Paint Marker

  5. Dove White Cardstock

  6. Intensified Black Ink

  7. Trinity Embellishments

  8. Precision Glue

  9. Foam Tape

  10. Tim Holtz Guillotine Paper Trimmer

  11. Gemini Jr Die Cutting Machine

Steps to Create this Card

  1. First, die cut the curve out of the top third of an A2-sized panel of Dove White cardstock.

  2. Next, use a blending brush to add some gradients of Stone Blue and Juniper Mist Inks down the top and up from the bottom, masking off the bottom with the other side of the curve die cut.

  3. Then, die cut the planet pieces out of cardstock and use the holes as a mask and stencil in some Stone Blue ink to create shadows for the moon.

  4. After that, stamp in the landmarks with Juniper Mist Ink and color them in with a B23 Copic Marker.

  5. Next, stamp the luggage and bear out on Dove White cardstock with Intens-ified Black ink and color them in with B21-B28 Copic markers.

  6. Then, pop up the bear and luggage with foam tape.

  7. After that, stamp the sentiment with Intens-ified Black Ink.

  8. Next, I added some stars in with a white paint marker. But you can use a white gel pen, too.

  9. And to finish it all off, add some Trinity Stamps Embellishments to the front with liquid adhesive.

You can switch it all up with different color choices. Make it a darker night sky with black and gray inks.

I sure hope you enjoyed this little project, and that you get a chance to be creative on this our special day. Below you will find a grid of all the supplies I used to create this card. If you feel inspired to shop because of this post, I would appreciate you using my affiliate links to shop.
