Hero Arts September 2021 My Monthly Hero Countdown to Creativity

Hey there Artie! It’s Del! Today we’re joining Hero Arts’ Countdown to Creativity, showing off some peeks at the September 2021 My Monthly Hero Card Kit. This shows off the beauty of sunflowers — but with a twist! You get a beautiful array of sunflowers, but you also get layering stencils to color them with! Unbelievable!

I hope you have enjoyed the countdown so far and you are ready to shop when this kit and add-ons go live on Tuesday, September 7, at 1PM Eastern. If you love this kit, be sure to grab it quickly. If it sells out, it will be gone forever.

Supplies:

  1. My Monthly Hero Card Kit - September 2021 (link takes you to the Hero website.)

  2. Hero Arts Grape Juice Ink, Intensified Black Ink, Emerald Green Ink

  3. Hero Arts Blending Brushes

  4. Pitch Black Cardstock

  5. Dove White Side Folded Card

  6. Icicle Sequin Mix

  7. Sparkle Clear Lacquer Pen

  8. MISTI Stamping Tool

  9. Gemini Junior

  10. Precision Glue

  11. Foam Tape

  12. Posca Paint Marker

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. First, I stenciled in the largest sunflower stencil with Grape Juice Ink and a light hand.

  2. Then, i stenciled in the next layer with a heavier hand.

  3. Next, i added the center layers with the heaviest hand and some Intensified Black Ink.

  4. After that, I stenciled in the leaves with Emerald Green Ink and the detail layer with Intensified Black.

  5. Then, because I had stenciled in the image backwards, I had to die-cut it by flipping the image over, holding it to the light and taping the die down on the opposite side of the cardstock. This produced an unexpected and fun edge that pops up a bit, like a flower. So, I kept it!

  6. Then, I cut up the array of flowers, and re-arranged them along the front of the card base.

  7. Next, I popped up a strip of Pitch Black cardstock on the front and hid the edges of the flowers that I had cut down.

  8. After that, I die cut the sentiment “HELLO” three times out of Dove White cardstock and stacked them up with Precision Glue.

  9. Then, i glued it down on the front of the Pitch Black strip.

  10. To finish off the card, I added some Icicle Sequins Mix to the front with Precision Glue and added some Sparkle Lacquer Pen drops.
