Hero Arts - Spring Catalog Feature - Puzzle Fancy Die

Hey there Artie!! Today I am up on the Hero Arts YouTube Channel with a new video and a fun project featuring the Puzzle Fancy Die from the Spring 2021 Catalog. I made four projects for this die, but couldn’t settle on one until the fourth one. Jessica Frost-Ballas gave me the idea — SOOO grateful for teammates when I’m hitting a wall.

It’s not that I didn’t like the first three, but they didn’t have that <<je ne sais quoi>>. So I figured, I would put them up on the blog today to show everyone that sometimes, I make things I don’t adore. Also, some of the things I don’t LOVE are often LOVED by my friends. So here they are…

Card #1 — Purple Haze — List of Supplies

  1. Puzzle Fancy Die

  2. Handwritten Message Stamp Set

  3. White Detail Embossing Powder

  4. Pitch Black Cardstock

  5. Purple Galaxy Reactive Ink

  6. Grape Juice Ink

  7. Dove Cardstock

  8. Post-It Tape

  9. Blender Brush

  10. MISTI Stamping Tool

  11. Gemini Junior

  12. Precision Glue

  13. Foam Tape

  14. Hero Hues Clear Enamel Dots

  15. Clear Embossing Powder

Steps for Creating this Card

  1. First, I taped off a section of a card panel with Post-It tape and brushed on some Purple Galaxy Ink with a blender brush.

  2. Next, I splattered some water on the front and dabbed it up.

  3. Then, I took some puzzle pieces from another die cut panel and pressed them into some Grape Juice Ink.

  4. I heat embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder to add some shine and adhered them to the front of the panel with Precision Glue.

  5. Next, I ran the panel through the Gemini Jr with the Puzzle Fancy Die covering the right half of the panel for a partial die cut.

  6. After that, I heat embossed a sentiment from the Handwritten Messages Stamp Set with White Detail Embossing Powder on Pitch Black Cardstock, trimmed it down and adhered it to the front.

  7. Finally, I popped it all up on some foam tape and embellished it with some Hero Hues Clear Enamel Dots.
