Hero Arts September 2020 My Monthly Hero Sneak Peak

Hey there Artie! It’s Del! Today we’re joining Hero Arts’ Countdown to Creativity, showing off some peeks at the September 2020 My Monthly Hero Card Kit. You will see a ton of pumpkins in the next few months, but nothing like the ones in this kit.

Release day will be one day later than usual this month due to the Labor Day holiday. You will be able to purchase the kit on Tuesday, September 8 at 1pm Eastern/10 am Pacific. In the meantime, we'll be right here, sharing heaps of inspiration before the launch.

We're also giving a kit away! Before we get to that, let's see what our amazing Creative Team has been busy making with the September kit. We encourage you to visit each of their blogs (linked below), where they are sharing even more details.

This month’s main stamp set includes a HeroScape stamp set to help you create a fun field of gourds. Who says they have to be orange? Pumpkins actually come in many colors, and I favor the blue ones. I also grew up not far from the pumpkin and melon fields of the Mississippi Valley of Southeastern Missouri. And the rich dark silt of the region produces the best pumpkins ever!

I chose to create a field in southern MIssouri, full of Queensland Blue Pumpkins, with a coordinating deep brown ground and lush corn field in the back ground.

Supplies:

  1. My Monthly Hero Card Kit - September 2020

  2. Dove White Cardstock

  3. Chestnut Cardstock

  4. Intens-ified Black Ink

  5. Dusty Blue Ink

  6. Cornflower Ink

  7. Cup O’ Joe Ink

  8. Emerald Green Ink

  9. Mint Julep Ink

  10. Hero Arts MISTI

  11. Gemini Junior

  12. Precision Glue

  13. Foam Tape

  14. Blender Brush

  15. Paper Trimmer

To begin, I layed down some Mint Julep ink for the base stamp. This will serve as the color for the leaves. Next, i stamped the Cup O’ Joe Ink down over that and lightly added some Intensi-fied Black Ink.

Then, I stamped the pumpkins in Dusty Blue Ink and then in Conflower twice, with the detail stamp. I die cut the pumpkin field out with the coordinating die meant for the corn field — it works for them both — if you color in the top of the cardstock to match the corn.

Then, I stamped the corn field in Mint Julep, then Emerald Green for the details. I used the negative die cut to mask off the top of the corn, then blended in a sky with Dusty Blue Ink, leaving a white center for the sun.

Next, I stamped the birds and sentiment in Intens-ified Black Ink.

Then, stamped the scarecrow in black in and die cut him out with his coordinating die. I adhered the pieces to the front of a Dove White Card Base. Then, colored in the bottom of the pumpkin patch with a dark brown Copic Marker. I added a strip of Chestnut cardstock on the bottom with Precision Glue.

I hope you enjoyed this little peek at Septembers’s My Monthly Hero Card Kit! There is so much more to see, so keep your eyes peeled for more this weekend.
